Heavenly Valley Lodge 


The Heavenly Valley Lodge in South Lake Tahoe has a unique location at 1261 Ski Run Blvd just off Pioneer Trail. It is the ideal location for lakefront activities and skiing at the world famous Heavenly Ski Slopes.

Prior to the current owners renovation in Summer 2011 the property had a long history since the 1960's, and was previously operating as The Inn at Heavenly, St. Moritz Inn, and Heavenly Valley Motel.

It has now been completely remodeled- replacing EVERYTHING in the rooms and the lodge, as well as upgrading the outdoor amenities. We also have 4 Vacation Rentals adjacent to our property, forming a large compound which can be booked for large groups up to 80 people.

You don't have to rent a car at Reno airport, although we do strongly recommend having your own car, especially in the summer, so that you can explore all the sights around the Lake. There is a shuttle bus service to/from South Lake Tahoe.

Once in Tahoe, we have pretty good bus services close by, and in winter a free shuttle to and from the ski slopes.

South Lake Tahoe is about 65 minutes from the Reno, Nevada Airport, which is a main hub for several major airlines. Reno Airport is a short flight from the major CA city airports, such as San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

It is also a reasonable car drive from/to surrounding cities like Sacramento, Napa Valley, Carson City, San Francisco, Yosemite. The drive from San Francisco is approximately 4 hours, Sacramento 2 hours, Napa Valley 3 hours, etc. The 72 mile drive around Lake Tahoe is a wonderful experience, with many must-see sights along the way.

Meet the Innkeepers

JOHAN & LINDA DU PLOOY


Your Innkeepers are Johan & Linda du Plooy. Living in Lake Tahoe has been our dream for many years and finally became a reality in June 2011. Heavenly Valley Lodge is our home now and we can honestly say we are living in Paradise! Excellent customer service is very important to both of us. We love meeting new people and look forward to making your stay with us a unique and memorable experience.
Johan is an ex-South-African who, after many years in corporate South Africa, and a stint as an entrepreneur, decided to sail around the world, and after spending a few years in the Caribbean as a Charter Skipper on luxury Catamarans, ended up in San Diego, where he met and married Linda in 2002.
Linda, a native of San Diego spent time enjoying Lake Tahoe with friends and family. She had a long and rewarding career in High-end retail. Prior to making her dream of living in Lake Tahoe a reality she was a Vice President at Barneys New York and worked in the corporate office in New York City.
We have both reached the perfect time in our lives to spend the rest of our days in a more relaxed and healthy atmosphere, and where better than Lake Tahoe!
Johan and Linda have both traveled extensively, work hard but also enjoy having fun! We have a wonderful big family and many great friends! We see this as a great opportunity to spend more time with the ones we love and to make many new friendships along the way.
We both look forward to making your stay at Heavenly Valley Lodge the very best experience in Lake Tahoe. It is our goal to make you feel welcome in our new home!

"Our stay was just perfect. We stopped in SLT as a resting point along our California road trip with little to do and little expectations. As soon as we pulled up, we knew that we were going to love our stay. It is immediately apparent that Linda and Johann love their bed & breakfast property and take pride in making you feel welcome and at home in their city. The rooms all have fireplaces, which was the best surprise to us, and everything was clean. Linda prepares a thoughtful and delicious breakfast each morning and their company was just an added bonus. NOTES:


Check-in Time 3:00PM and Check-out Time 11:00am, but we are somewhat flexible. Please call us to check. If you will be arriving after 9pm, please call us before our phones go to voicemail at 9pm, and let us know so that we can make arrangements to leave your room unlocked with the key inside, and heat and lights on, and we will see you the next morning for breakfast between 8-10am in the Office/Lodge.
Also, please let us know in advance if you have any food restrictions, allergies or preferences that we need to know about when preparing breakfast. We like to spoil our guests!

ROOM RESERVATION NOTES:
2 night minimum stay required with a Saturday (some exceptions off-season and extended minimums for High Seasons and Holidays)
Rates do not include local room taxes and fees.
Cash, traveler's checks and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) accepted. Sorry, no personal checks accepted.
Reservations confirmed with 50% deposit paid at the time of booking with the balance due at check in. One night bookings require full payment on booking.
Room Rates are for maximum 2 people per room, additional $25 per person, per night charge will be added at check-in. (Roll-away twin bed and blow up twin mattresses available - if rooms have available space).
If you booked on line, the additional fees, including Dog fees, will be payable at check in.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ROOMS:
ROOM DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, However, reservations may be cancelled and re-booked up to one year from date of original booking. Deposits are held in a prepaid account under your name, and will be used towards the new booking. If the cancellation is less than 14 days prior to the arrival date, there will be a $50.00 penalty applied against the deposit, and the rest held in a prepaid account.

NO SHOWS: Because all rooms are booked with a minimum 50% deposit we hold your room for you on your reservation date. If you do not show up and have not properly cancelled your reservation at least 5 days in advance (you will have received a formal cancellation confirmation), your reservation has then been fulfilled and you will forfeit your deposit. This is because you have prevented us from renting the room to someone else.

AUTO-COLLECT
A 50 percent deposit is collected at the time of purchase. Payment for retail items and gift certificates is collected at the time of purchase.

CHILDREN & PETS
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Children age 2 and under stay free. Pets are welcome. Pets must weigh under 70 pounds. PET POLICY: We welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes up to around 70lbs. However, aggressive dogs of any breed or size should be left at home. If your dog shows aggressive behavior that is protective and/or unfriendly to strangers or to other pets then it is considered an aggressive dog. If you decide to bring your dog and it exhibits this type of behavior the owner or management will ask you to please find other accommodations - no refunds will be given if asked to leave in this case. All dogs are required to be under the control and visual observation of their owner at all times. We are very dog-friendly, and have a few dog-friendly rooms, but we can remain so only if dog owners strictly adhere to our rules. Violation of any of these rules will mean additional charges to your credit card on file, and in all likelihood your dog will be barred from future bookings. There is an extra charge of $35 per night per pet. On check-in you will be required to sign our Pet Policy Agreement, and make a refundable deposit of $150 per dog to cover any damages or extra cleaning caused by your pet. Damage in excess of the $150 will be charged to the owners credit card on file. The deposit or remaining portion thereof will be refunded within 24 hours of checking out, to give housekeeping time to assess your vacated room.
