As one of the only properties in South Lake Tahoe with gas fireplaces in each room, we're delighted to explain how they work to ensure your safe enjoyment.
The fireplace in your room is your source of heat and is controlled by the thermostat on the wall, like a typical home heater. Gas fireplaces are extremely efficient, offer a fantasic ambiance and will continue to work in the event of a power outage, wich can often occur during winter mountain storms.
While these fireplaces are completely safe, once and a while the pilot light will go out - typically from a strong breeze when entering or existing the room. In this case you'll need to re-light the pilot light in order for the fireplace to operate. Below are a series of videos showing exactly how to do this.
If you are unable to get the fireplace lit, we offer serveral solutions.
1) Each room has an emergency electric space heater located on the floor of the closet area. These small heaters are ample for keeping your cozy room warm until we are able to get your fireplace back on.
